Waterman Project Management have had a number of enquires relating to project management in relation to large refurbishment projects of residential properties in the North Oxford area which have commenced on site.

Waterman Project Management complete the Summer 2016 works for St Peter’s College which included the replacement of strategic electrical switchgear on the site.
The replacement of this switchgear was undertaken following 12 months of planning and review of key project risks. During this 12 month period the design was reviewed and developed to minimise risks to the College and provide a solution that once installed gives the College greater resilience.

Waterman Project Management are appointed by The Sick Children’s Trust to prepare the tender documentation for the undertaking of Building Surveying and production of a five year Planned and Preventative Maintenance Plan (PPM) for their Guildford Street and Rainbow House Properties.
Waterman Project Management have previously provided this service to other clients where selecting consultants for PPM works and fixtures fittings and equipment (FFE) for projects.

St Peter’s College Perrodo Project commences with the refurbishment of the Porter’s Lodge and Senior Common Room and Dining Room.

Waterman Project Management are appointed by St Peter’s College, University of Oxford as Project Directors for their Perrodo Project which comprises the refurbishment of teaching spaces, reconfiguration of three quads and the front entrance, refurbishment of the Porters’ Lodge, the installation of two new doors to the Chapel and improved acoustics. The project has many challenges given it is being undertaken in a live environment. The Phase 1 architect is Allies and Morrison.

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew have appointed Waterman Project Management as Construction Managers on the £35M Temperate House Precinct Project during the development of the Stage 2 Heritage Lottery Fund application.
The iconic Grade 1 listed Temperate House is the largest remaining Victorian glasshouse in the world. The Temperate House Precinct Project involves the restoration of the Temperate House and conversation of the neighbouring Grade 2 listed Evolution House into a dedicated engagement centre, restoration of the surrounding precinct area and an extensive community and outreach programme.

I was invited to an Opendoorz event in North Oxford and it was great to have a session with them and made me think about defining project management in the property sector for those outside that arena..
All to often project managers are appointed to late in the process when the train has left the station, appointing one early in the development process ensures you will have the right team to get you to the correct station and destination but also explore other means of getting the that destination.

Andrew is fully aware in the property industry travelling to site and clients is inevitable but can we work smarter ‘I have been looking at my own carbon footprint and reviewing how I can operate more efficiently, mobile communications have improved greatly on public transport recently and now means journey can genuinely productive, however, there needs to be a cultural shift in organisations, travel by car is part of the job but more sensible meeting locations and car sharing can help. In March this year I made decision to join the green revolution by buying a sub 100g/km CO2 emissions car for work and I have to say I am a complete convert’.

The University of Oxford, Department of Engineering Science have appointed Waterman Project Management to provide project management services in relaxation to the internal reorganisation of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the Old Road Campus Research Building including the relocation of a laboratory and a specialist stent cutter.
Stevenson House is completed for the Sick Children’s Trust providing much needed extra accommodation for families whist their children are being treated at the Royal London Hospital, it is great to continue to support this charity.
